Book Review Template

When you post a book review, we'll all need to include the following above an lj cut:

Title
Author
Genre(s)
[If it's an audio book, drama, or podcast, please indicate that, too.]
Short Summary [of your own making or snatching from Amazon--if that's the case, indicate origin]
Score

Go into more detail behind a cut. It can be as long or as short as you like, spoilery or not. Cover whatever you think needs covering, particularly why you gave it the score you did.

The score is out of four stars:

0 out of 4 stars: Absolutely hated it. Don't even buy it at a garage sale for a quarter. Someone had to try hard to make it this bad. Run from it. NOW.

1 out of 4 stars: It could have been interesting, if it weren't for Serious Problems A through M. As it is, there's nothing to recommend it over Better Books N through Z.

2 out of 4 stars: It's an okay way to pass the time. There are one or two big problems, but overall, it's a solid title if you like the genre(s). Borrow it from the library or a friend if you happen to run across it.

3 out of 4 stars: An all-around good title. There are a few minor problems, but nothing that breaks the book. Borrow it from the library or a friend as soon as you get the chance if you like the genre(s).

4 out of 4 stars: An excellent story. If you like the genre(s), you should definitely think about buying a copy--it's that good. If you don't like the genre(s), consider giving it a chance anyway.
