They're Multiplying

I now have an "Actual Story" document, a "Character info" document, a "Not making it in...?" document, a "background and notes" document, and an "other stories from Bridget drafts" document. It kind of feels like a lot, but since I'm something of a hoarder when it comes to my writing (ask me about my journal collection sometime), I can't stand to just delete or not transcribe anything--which means everything has to have a place. Including the three version of the same scene that I wrote at different points. A scene that may very well not make it into the story. But each version has potentially useful things and characterization tidbits that should be helpful, at least. I'm trying not to get frustrated with myself for doing something silly like writing three versions of the same scene. Also for only working on this process one day this week. Which was today.

This week's slacking has been brought to you by my husband being on spring break, my continued stress over my prospectus (still not close to done, apparently), and a general propensity to waste time. I shall do better this week--I shall work on this project at least 3 days. And I shall at least start to read a book. (I'm thinking Fairest, because I have it, and I want to.)
